Fix My Business
Do I really need to comply?
As a business, there's a good chance that you're already collecting and using personal data (phone numbers, email addresses, names etc). The chances are that you're storing this information somewhere - either in a file, document or computer.
GDPR applies to you, even if you're collecting the minimal amount of data.
By not complying with GDPR regulations, your business is breaking the law, and risks huge fines.

Why is my business at risk?
The EU have got tough on Data Privacy.
Any business - no matter how big or small - that collects, stores or uses personal information needs to take steps to protect their customers.
Chances are that your business is collecting personal information, so let's see what's at stake...
If I don't take action
- Financial penalties of up to £17m or 4% of turnover
- Loss of credibility and reputation
- Lack of client trust
- Suppliers will insist on your business complying with GDPR
- Your competitors gain an advantage over you
- Lack of control of personal data
- Worry of being investigated
If I take action now
- Clients will trust you to handle their information
- Secure in the knowledge that you're complying with laws
- Your business will grow its reputation
- Continue to work with suppliers who insist on GDPR
- Gives your business a competitive advantage
- More accurate, reliable data from your customers
- Your business becomes accountable, and data is protected
Does my business really need to comply?
"We're such a small business that GDPR doesn't apply to us". We hear this all the time. You might have a small family-owned business that's operated by a couple of members of staff, but GDPR still applies to you if you are collecting any type of personal information (such as names, telephone/mobile numbers, email addresses).
If one or more of the following applies to your business, then you need to comply with GDPR:
- You are active (or have a presence) in a EU country
- You don't have a presence in the EU, but you process personal data about EU residents (yes, that still applies after Brexit)
- You have more than 250 employees/members of staff
- You have less than 250 employees/staff, but collect, store or use personal information about employees or customers.
- You don't collect personal data, but you operate CCTV cameras
