Frequently Asked Questions

The new buzzword on the street is GDPR. It has been for some time. No wonder - there's stories of mass panic, misconceptions and rumours about huge fines for non-compliance.

GDPRQuick was developed by the Managing Director of CliqTo Media, Chris Haycock. He wanted a way to help him get through the mass of new regulations by breaking it down into bite-size questions that he could answer gradually, at his own pace, and work towards compliance.

Whilst building it (he's got a web development background) he realised that this could also benefit others too. He loves helping other small businesses, so he turned it into GDPRQuick - a simple, no-nonsense service that allows businesses and organisations to create and maintain their GDPR documentation by asking a series of questions about their organisation.

Once you've answered the questions, your GDPR documents are created on-the-fly and saved to the cloud, so you can access them anywhere. You can even embed them into your websites by pasting a few lines of code into your site.

Let's set it out on the line - GDPRQuick won't make your business fully compliant with the new regulations. Sorry to have to admit that, but it's obvious that in order to be compliant with GDPR you'll need to change the way that your business operates; not by a massive amount, but small incremental changes to protect individual's privacy.

However, behind GDPRQuick lies our masterpiece - our GDPR Wizard. Rather than wading through hundreds of pages of official documentation, all you'll need to do is to answer a series of questions about your business and how it operates. There's just 37 questions to answer, and we've broken it down into bite-size sections to help you get through it.

For each section, you'll come across templates, forms and tools that are designed to help you comply with the regulations. Use our wizard to make your way through towards compliance. By the end of the wizard you'll have everything your business needs to comply, meaning you can relax a little in the knowledge that you've removed yourself from the risk of any fines.

You'll still need to make changes to the way your business operates, but if you want to comply (which you must), then it's all par for the course. GDPRQuick just makes it a lot simpler to get to this stage.
Probably, yes. Businesses with more than 250 employees must comply. But what about smaller businesses?

GDPR also applies to small businesses under 250 employees (yes, even if you're a sole trader) if "the processing carried out is likely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of data subjects, the processing is not occasional". This means that if you are collecting, storing or processing any information regulary in the course of your business that can personally identify an individual - even if it's just an email address, telephone number or forename/surname, then GDPR applies to your business.
The good news is that we've deliberately set our prices low so that GDPRQuick is affordable for small businesses, sole traders and startups. For just £129 you get lifetime access to everything we have to offer, with no annual fees whatsoever. Pay once and GDPRQuick will always be there to help you comply with GDPR - forever.

Compare that with the cost of hiring an expensive GDPR lawyer and you can save your business thousands of pounds. Compare that with other online services (which are nowhere near as comprehensive as GDPRQuick) and you can also save hundreds of pounds.
We think that the cost of GDPRQuick is perfect for smaller businesses to ensure that they comply with GDPR. For £129 you get a lifetime access to our GDPR Wizard (which automatically puts together your documentation - it really is worthy of the name Wizard), as well as other really useful resources at your fingertips.

You also get to download Statements for your website, Forms to keep track of privacy requests, PDF documents outlining your GDPR compliance.

But that's not all, either. You'll also get access to our incredible Website Widget. Paste just a few lines of code into your website and GDPRQuick will retrieve and display your GDPR-compliant Statement on your website(s) so that your users can view it at any time. What's more, if you ever want to change the way your business operates, just log into GDPRQuick, make the necessary changes, and it'll update on your website automatically. If any official regulations change, we'll also take care of that too.

Job done!
Yes, but that really does depend on you.

In theory you could complete your GDPR documentation in less than 10 minutes, but that doesn't mean you should. We've had plenty of users tell us that they have completed our GDPR Wizard in less than an hour, and who are we to question them!

Let's just say that you'll want to take as long as it takes to ensure that you fully understand the implications of the answers that you give on our GDPR Wizard (it's amazingly easy, by the way). We don't want you to come a cropper by just ticking boxes for ten minutes. We want your business to benefit from our service, and that means a short learning curve as you complete our GDPR Wizard and put it into practice.

There are some changes that you will need to introduce into your business practices, so our advice is to take your time, enjoy feeling enlightened, and go through it at your own pace.

You don't need to complete the GDPR Wizard in one go. It'll save your progress as you go along, so whether it takes 10 minutes or 10 weeks is ultimately down to you and your organisation.
Don't shoot the messenger, but yes, you do.

From 25 May 2018, the Data Protection (Charges and Information) Regulations 2018 requires every organisation or sole trader who processes personal information to pay a data protection fee to the ICO (Information Commissioner's Office), unless they are exempt.

Although there is a public consultation in August about whether there should be exemptions, but until the outcome is published, all businesses processing personal information need to register and pay the fees. The cost depends on your size and turnover. There are three tiers of fee ranging from £40 and £2,900, but for most organisations it will be £40 or £60.
